This academic session at Akimohs Schools has been a season of remarkable growth, creativity, and hands-on learning for both pupils and students. The school, known for its forward-thinking approach to education, successfully ran exciting termly themes. The session began it first term with focus on Science. The Science term was a rich blend of exploration, creativity and fun, every child had the opportunity to think and act like a scientist, and discover the world around them through experiments and innovations. The term’s success has laid a foundation for more advanced problem-solving and STEM engagement in subsequent years. The climax of the term was the Science Exhibition where students showcased their individual and group projects.<\/p>\n
The second term was dedicated to boosting the reading, writing, and speaking skills of our learners. The school community came alive with activities such as book reading sessions, story telling\/writing contests, spelling bees, public speaking events, impromptu speeches and creative writing activities. Pupils were encouraged to explore a wide range of books, while students search deeper into literature, learning how to express themselves better in speech and in writing.
\nThe term ended with a special Literacy Day celebration tagged: “The white party” where each students showcase their talents which was discovered within the term. This initiative did not only improved language skills but also boosted confidence and imagination in learners across all levels.<\/p>\n
We began the third term with the aim of shaping the Future Through Career and Skills.
\nIn third term, the theme shifted to Career and Entrepreneurship, giving pupils and students a broader view of the world beyond the classroom.This term introduced them to various career paths and equipped them with basic hands-on skills. It was both engaging and inspiring as professionals were invited to speak about their careers, and learners got to try out various trades and vocations.Some of the highlighted activities included: Talk on Marine and Blue Economy by an officer from NIMASA,Excursions to Psychiatric hospital for those with medical inclination, football academy, Baking and Cake Decoration: Pupils tried their hands at mixing ingredients, decorating cupcakes, and learning about hygiene in the kitchen.
\nIn Basic Electricity, Students learned how to wire a simple circuit, identify electrical tools, and understand basic safety rules. While in Fashion Designing Students learnt how to make simple, inner wears, hair roffles, bow ties etc.
\nIn the TECH-ACADEMY (ICT ) Pupils were introduced to basic coding, computer hardware, and digital tools essential for today\u2019s tech-driven world, photography and videography.
\nThe term closed with a graduation party featuring career and skills Exhibition , where learners proudly displayed what they had learnt, with some even making and selling products they created. Parents, teachers, and guests were thrilled to see how much the children had grown in knowledge, confidence, and practical skill.<\/p>\n
This year was indeed a year to Remember combining academic learning with life skills and career awareness, Akimohs Schools continues to prepare its learners not just for exams, but for life.<\/p>\n
As we look forward to a new academic year, the school community remains committed to nurturing curious minds and empowering them to dream, create, and lead.<\/p>\n
